Scaled

Q&A

Q: Are lifting straps allowed?
A: Lifting straps may not be used.
Q: Does it matter which bar is held and which is lifted in the mixed gender teams?
A: Males can only use 185. Females can only use 125.

Q&A

Q: Can the thruster begin with a power clean then full thruster? What about a full squat clean to thruster (cluster)?
A: Yes, the thruster may start from a full or squat clean.
Q: Can snatches be power or must they be below parallel?
A: Snatches do not have to be below parallel for this event.
Q: Can an athlete step forward while pressing during the thruster, so long as the knees do not re-bend?
A: Any movement of the foot off the floor will constitute a no rep. This includes stepping forward with one or both feet. The heel may come off the floor but the ball of the foot must remain in one place during the entire lift through lockout.
Q: Are lifts from the hang allowed?
A: No. all lifts must be performed from the floor, just like the sport of Olympic weightlifting.
Q: Does "no feet" on thrusters mean no jerk or jerk-type movement is allowed to finish the lift? And are Clusters allowed (Squat Clean to start the squat of the Thruster)?
A: The athlete's feet must stay in contact with the floor from the bottom of the squat to lockout. There is no re-bend of the knees allowed (jerk). This is a "true" thruster finished with a push press not a jerk. Heels may leave the floor so long as the foot remains in contact with the floor. Starting this movement from a squat clean is allowed.

Q&A

Q: Will there be step stools for height challenged athletes to reach the bar for PUs and T2B?
A: No step stools. You can use the J hooks on the rig and teammates can assist others up.

Q&A

Q: Does each partnership complete a 10 min AMRAP of the defined movements or do the partnerships alternate in the 10 minutes, or is it 10 minutes total for both pairs?
A: Partners will alternate completing rounds. Pair 1 works on the Row+Bike and Rope Climbs, Pair 2 works on the Row+Bike and DU, then Pair 1, then Pair 2, etc.
Q: Is there a minimum work requirement on the rope climbs, or can one person complete all of them?
A: There is no requirement for individual athletes to perform RCs.

Rx

Q&A

Q: Do both partners run together or does only one of the partners have to run?
A: Both partners must run 800m together at the same time and complete this before beginning on their 2nd set of CJ.

Q&A

Q: Can snatches be power or must they be below parallel?
A: Snatches do not have to be below parallel for this event.
Q: Are lifts from the hang allowed?
A: No. all lifts must be performed from the floor, just like the sport of Olympic weightlifting.
Q: Does every athlete establish a 1RM in snatch and C&J, and the score for the event is the combined weight of each lift? Or do we simply put our best lifter forward for each lift and the score is that one lift?
A: Male CJ's will be combined. Male Snatches will be combined. Female Snatches will be combined. Female CJ will be combined. Those 4 loads will be scored relative to other teams.

** M/F loads for clean should have been 205/135". PDF has been updated **

Q&A

Q: Do squat cleans need to be one continuous movement or can you clean then squat for a full rep?
A: A front squat performed after a power clean is acceptable.
Q: What is the penalty if Athlete 3 does not complete any/either of the final two rope climbs due to the time constraint?
A: See the last bullet point in the workout description. For each rep the team does not complete within the time cap, 1 second will be added to the time cap.

Masters

Q&A

Q: Does each pair doing the work means it is done once, divided any way (eg 12 C&Js and 15 T2B), or that each person in the pair has to do the entire work?
A: For Masters division, the reps listed are total reps to be completed by the pair. There is no minimum work requirement for any individual athlete, except for the last round where the Male/Female pair must complete 10 synchronized T2B. Both athletes must complete the 800m run before starting on their 2nd set of C&J.
Q: Do both partners run together or does only one of the partners have to run?
A: Both partners must run 800m together at the same time and complete this before beginning on their 2nd set of CJ.

Q&A

Q: If a bar or ring muscle up is attempted and failed, must the athlete doi the 3 pull-up penalty or does the attempt count as their turn?
A: If the movement requirement for a pullup is met (chin above the bar), the attempt will count for their first rep of three. This only applies to the Bar Muscle up. If the athlete gets to the rings, a ring muscle up attempt cannot substitute for the pullups.

Q&A

Q: Is there an elective time penalty to “skip” reps on the squat cleans?
A: If the team elects to, we will allow athletes to perform the cleans with 95/65 (the team may not skip the movements entirely). There will be a 40 second penalty for each rep that the team scales added to the final team time.
Q: Must everyone do the rope climbs and cleans? They can't be broken up who does what, correct?
A: This event is an individual relay. Athletes must complete their individual work.
Q: Do squat cleans need to be one continuous movement or can you clean then squat for a full rep?
A: A front squat performed after a power clean is acceptable.
